Build – SD Gundam BB Senshi 225 RX-77-2 Guncannon

Finding a reason to get this kit was pretty easy. Because I already ordered the BB/SD Guntank, I just had to get myself a full set of the White Base MS Trio. I got this kit and the BB/SD RX-78-2 from my usual online vendor. Good thing they still had a few in stock because I’d have a lot of problems trying to collect the trio in any other grade.

Build Documentation

The build process was pretty simple, which is what you would expect from a kit like this. The instructions were easy to understand and the nub marks were easy to get rid of. The plastic they used was sturdy but not too rigid to feel brittle.

I really enjoyed playing around with the articulation. The head can turn side to side but won’t be able to look up and down very far because of the lack of clearance. The arms had the same kind of mechanisms as the Guntank but they had more freedom to move because there weren’t any treads interfering with the downward swing. The waist connection also allows a respectable swivel. Leg pivot was made possible by nothing more than a ball joint from the waist, which I thought was pretty adorable.

Bits and Pieces. Beam Rifle included

“Action Shot”
Guntank and Guncannon. When Bright thinks the threat is too easy to deal with.

Build Time – 1.5 Hours

I took my time panel lining as I built this kit. Watching Kemono Friends during the build kind of divided my attention too. There were only a few stickers to apply and they’re pretty much optional if the builder has the tools for basic detailing.

Pros and Cons

+Straightforward assembly
+Nice articulation
+Cute AND Badass
-The seamlines, maybe?

Despite being an SD, I think the Guncannon looks quite badass. It’s too bad that they didn’t retain the color scheme further down the development line for Guncannon variants, but I suppose they wanted to go for a more military use kind of look.

Overall, this kit is nice to have if you’re a collector or just love SD Mobile Suits in general. It’s a nice kit to have if you’re looking for a palate cleanser or just want a relaxed build.
